Center TBI is a large European study aimed to improve treatment for traumatic brain injury.
The treatment for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), may be caused by accidents, falls or violence and is a very challenging disease to treat. Large variations exist in treatment approaches and in outcome between countries.

The University Hospital Antwerp (Belgium) and the University of Cambridge (UK) are the Coordinators of a unique project to improve treatment and outcome for TBI: Collaborative European Neuro Trauma Effectiveness Research in TBI (CENTER-TBI).

This project is supported by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Development, and forms part of InTBIR, a global collaboration established by the European Commission, the National Institutes of Health in the US and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in Canada (http://intbir.nih.gov/). Seldom has such a large collaboration been implemented by funding agencies.
